This little project came about simply because I wanted to learn how to work with concrete at small scale. I set out to make a salt cellar for the kitchen, which seemed simple enough. After a few rough sketches on paper, I refined the design of the salt cellar in Onshape, and 3D printed a two-part mold out of PLA. I mixed the concrete in a zip-lock bag, which I then used to spread the concrete into all the nooks and crannies of the mold. Once the concrete had set and the mold painstakingly removed, I finished the salt cellar with a food-safe sealant, glued a cork bottom onto it to keep it from sliding around, and then poured in some salt.
